In cooperation with Manara Al-Hudhairi Scientific and in its library hall in Sebha, and at the kind invitation of its administration, the Libya Academy for Advanced Studies organized a lecture on manuscripts, their importance and the method of indexing them.
The lecture was attended by university professors and those interested in manuscript heritage.
The lecture was given by A. Muhammad Al-Ajeel. From the Libya complex.
He pointed out the importance of taking care of private libraries, both manuscript and printed, and the necessity of indexing them, taking care of them, preserving them and photographing them, and the tragedy of stealing manuscripts and documents, trading in them, and destroying them.
He focused on defining the manuscript, the history of indexing, the conditions of the indexer, the books designated for indexing, and the relationship between indexing and codecology.
Things that should be included in indexing, the development of the indexing model, the stages and steps of indexing, and the difference between indexing manuscripts and indexing documents.
