Al Riwaq

In Islamic architecture, a riwaq often surrounds and defines the courtyards of mosques and education institutions. Traditionally, such spaces have served as a place for meeting, consultation, and reflection. At LIAS, Al Riwaq will draw upon students, faculty, and community members to offer a channel to come together for dialogue, discussions, and discourse. It will do this by shaping LIAS’s research vision and ensuring scholarly output is responsive to the needs of society. Al Riwaq plays a number of roles in creating a productive research environment at LIAS and ensuring our activities serve the needs of Libya.
