LIAS organized a meeting: Commemorating the Death Anniversary of Mr. Ahmed Al-Sharif Al-Senussi

The Libya Academy organized a meeting entitled: Commemorating the death anniversary of Sayyed Ahmed Al-Sharif Al-Senussi [1873 – 1933], on Wednesday, March 10, 2021.

In this meeting, he hosted a group of distinguished professors, historians, and authors to talk about the personality of Mr. Ahmed Al-Sharif, his struggle, his struggle, his call, his method, his composition, his approach, and his distinctive creativity, in a meeting that lasted for two hours on the Zoom platform, moderated by Mr. Sami Al-Jawadi.

Mr. Rashid Al-Zubair Al-Senussi, the poet and writer, the grandson of Mr. Ahmed Al-Sharif, and Prof. Dr. participated in the meeting. Abdul Mawla Al-Harir is a faculty member in the History Department at the University of Benghazi. He has written books on Libyan history and studies and publications in that regard.

Prof. Dr. also participated. Ali Abdul Latif Ahmeida, Head of the Department of History and Political Science at the University of New England in America, and Dr. Ahmed Muhammad Jadallah, associate professor at Omar Al-Mukhtar University, who is interested in the cultural history of the Sanusi order, and has several publications in particular, and Prof. Dr. Rawai Qenawi, professor specializing in history at the University of Benghazi and Libyan universities.

The meeting concluded by stating that these figures deserve long hours of detailed discussion about them, and the need to allocate special meetings to shed light on Mr. Ahmed Al-Sharif’s interests in education, upbringing, advocacy, and writing, which inspires the Assembly to allocate significant time to talk about the notables of this nation and their efforts, and to introduce subsequent generations to all that the ancestors have done for them. This country, its identity, its belief, and the hopes placed on these generations to move forward to preserve all kinds of heritage, master creativity, and combine authenticity and modernity.
