As part of its plan for awareness, education, training, skills transfer, and improvement, the Training Department at the Libya Academy for Advanced Studies organized a training course entitled: Foundations of Dialogue and Public Speaking. The course lasted for three days, August 31, September 1, and September 2, with the news presenter and trained political interviewer, Malek Al-Sharda.
This course was presented to the Ihya Libya team.
He began this course by asking a pivotal question: How do you become a good speaker? Because this gives self-confidence and high skill in communicating with others.
His answer was the necessity of: elegance, self-confidence, reading and culture, studying the audience being addressed, arranging thoughts, not worrying, being confused, and stressed, avoiding difficult terminology, using body language, concise speech, paying attention to the pitches and positions of the voice, and avoiding acting. He explained this with appropriate examples.
He also talked about the art of public speaking and public speaking, its concept, importance, and goals, and that it is a science based on a set of rules, methods, and concepts that must be learned and practiced, and that it addresses the mental and emotional side.
He also devoted more time to the practical side, by having all the participants perform different speaking roles, in which they applied the rules, foundations, and exercises that he had trained them on, and then evaluated them so that they would perform optimally and best, in terms of words, tone of voice, and grooming.
This session was attended by a group of young men and women in the hall and through the Zoom platform.
At the conclusion of this meeting, the Director of the Training Department at the Libya Academy for Advanced Studies, Mr. Salah Al-Abbar, distributed certificates of attendance to the participants.
The Director of the Training Department at the Libya Academy for Advanced Studies also presented a certificate of thanks and appreciation to Professor Malik Al-Sharda for presenting this distinguished course.
