LIAS in the city of Bani Walid organized a symposium: Protecting the Family from the Internet

Today, Wednesday, February 9, at its headquarters in the city of Bani Walid, the Libya Academy for Advanced Studies organized a symposium entitled: Protecting the Family from the Internet, on the occasion of World Safe Internet Day.

The symposium touched on several topics, including the advantages and disadvantages of the Internet, the positive and negative effects resulting from its use, and the optimal and safe use of the Internet, possible mechanisms and available strategies, to protect our families, children, and ourselves from any negative effects, towards a safe Internet.

Attention was also given to the necessity of learning the steps to protect email and banking information, in addition to protecting the mobile phone from applications, hacks, and malicious programs.

The ethical and legal issues that arise from misuse of the Internet were also addressed, and the necessity of fair legal legislation in digital criminal investigations and holding criminals accountable to reduce abuses, crimes, attacks and electronic hacking.

Specialists, interested people, professors, and young people of both sexes participated in the symposium, and it was presented and moderated by female specialists in communications and engineering.
