LIAS organized a dialogue session on the occasion of the International Day of Charity

Today, Tuesday, the Libya Institute for Advanced Studies organized a dialogue session on the occasion of the International Day of Charitable Work.

The meeting was organized and managed by Mr. Khaled Bouzakouk, hosting with him Mr. Riyad Al-Houni, head of the Voluntary Work Youth Organization.

Al-Houni spoke about the role of charitable work in society, its importance, and how to consolidate it within society. He also pointed out the obstacles to charitable work that cause the delay in charitable work. He also touched on proposals for charitable projects that could be established in the city of Benghazi, the role of social responsibility for public and private companies, and the importance of charitable work within Educational and university institutions and how to enhance and pay attention to it within these institutions.

The attendees enriched the discussion with a number of observations, including: the weakness of the state in supporting charitable work, the lack of sustainability of charitable work, and the necessity of working on rent-seeking charitable projects that manage and invest money and through it proceed to creativity and innovation in sustainable charitable work, and benefit from the experiences of the developed country in this, as was pointed out. To the lack of incentives in charitable work organizations, and the importance of establishing charitable markets at symbolic prices for families and the needy.
