High-Level Inter-Faith Summit in Jordan to Counter Violence

[Amman, Jordan] Dr Aref Ali Nayed, Founder and Director of Kalam Research and Media (KRM) and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Libya Institute for Advanced Studies (LIAS) attended a High-Level Summit of Religious Leaders on February 8^th and 9^th, February 2015 at the Dead Sea in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The meeting was convened by HH King Abdullah II of Jordan and was attended by HRH Prince Charles, Prince of Wales, and HRH Prince Ghazi Bin Muhammad of Jordan. The meeting brought together nearly 50 of the most active and senior inter-faith leaders to collaborate more closely to counter violence in the name of religion.

The members of the High-Level Summit discussed a framework to counteract and prevent violence against innocent civilians in the name of religion, and ways to mobilize faith communities, nations and civil society to build peace together.
