In its office in the capital, Tripoli, the Libya Academy for Advanced Studies held a training course on the basics of the art of debate, for a period of 3 days. It was opened by the trainer and certified arbitrator in the art of debate, Abdullah Farhat, by introducing the art of debate and the types of debate. The course also covered several exercises on the mechanisms of recollection and refutation, formulating the argument, and discovering fallacies.

The attendance was diverse, academically and age-wise.
