Sirte Second Convention

The Second Sirte Convention was held in Sirte on Saturday, October 17, 2020. The convention has the objective of achieving reconciliation between Libyans through relinquishing disagreement and settling differences. The convention was named and modelled after The (First) Sirte Convention, which was held in 1922 and was instrumental in mending fences between Libyans . LIAS’ holds a strong conviction regarding the necessity of Libyan-Libyan dialog and the Libyan social fabric’s ability to make a positive impact on the Libyan scene, and its participation in The Second Sirte Convention comes as a manifestation of this conviction. It is worth mentioning in this regard, that LIAS has lead, participated in, and supported many events and initiatives that share the same goals as The Second Sirte Convention.
