LIAS organized a meeting on the occasion of World Book and Copyright Day

On April 24, 2021, the Libya Institute for Advanced Studies organized a meeting on the Zoom platform on the occasion of World Book and Copyright Day, which falls on April 23 of each year.

The meeting shed light on the challenges facing writers and authors, whether legal, procedural, or economic, laws and legislation and their amendments and the extent to which they keep pace with development, the requirements of digitization and the relationship of these rights to intellectual property, the effects of the pandemic, the current situation, and important recommendations for countries and governments.

Faculty member at the Faculty of Law, University of Benghazi.

Deputy Director of the Center for Law and Society Studies, University of Benghazi.

Member of the committee preparing a draft amendment to Law No. 9 of 1968 regarding the protection of copyright, and Law No. 7 of 1984 regarding the deposit of works prepared for publication.

And Dr. Hossam Lotfy

*Professor of Civil Law, and Legal Advisor to the Arab Publishers Union.
