LIAS organized a workshop on a master’s thesis: The Scholar Abdullah bin Bayyah and his approach to Ijtihad and Innovation

On the morning of Saturday, August 13, 2022, at its headquarters in the Libyan capital, Tripoli, a workshop was held on a master’s thesis entitled: Sheikh Abdullah bin Bayyah and his approach to diligence and renewal, attended by a number of interested people and professors.

This thesis is by the researcher: Abdul Salam Hassan Al-Qadi. This thesis was discussed and approved at Gharyan University on March 7, 2022, and the discussion committee was: Prof. Dr. Juma Muhammad Al-Ahwal, supervisor and rapporteur, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Bashir Suwaisi, external examiner, Prof. Dr. Naji Ahmed Al-Sadiq, internal examiner.

In the workshop, the researcher presented the first chapter of the dissertation, entitled “Allama Abdullah bin Bayyah: Growth and Attainment.” In this chapter, he spoke about his birth and upbringing, his family and academic life, his elders, his academic standing, and his local and international research positions and contributions, in a sign of high importance that Good results are preceded by better preparations.

This workshop aims to introduce the figures of moderate Islam in the Islamic world, and the scholar Abdullah bin Bayyah is at the forefront of those who combined originality and modernity with distinction and creativity, while preserving the cultural and cognitive heritage in the face of challenges, to set an example for today’s students of science and the duties that lie with them in terms of knowledge, awareness, culture, assimilation and understanding. Authenticity, modernity, service, love, recommendation and morals.

This workshop also renews the relationship between the flags of Libya and the flags of Chinguetti, as many flags from Chinguetti resided in this country and passed through it. They had a major role in recommendation, education, teaching, jihad, and cultural, religious, and cognitive awareness, including: Sheikh Muhammad Al-Amin Al-Ghatafi, Ibn Tuair Al-Jannah, and Maa Al-Ainin. Al-Atiq, Habibullah Al-Shanqeeti, and Muhammad Al-Khader Al-Shanqeeti.
