LIAS organized a dialogue session on the occasion of World Environment Day
Today, Sunday, June 5, 2022 AD, in the city of Benghazi, the Libya Academy for Advanced Studies organized a dialogue session on the occasion of World Environment Day.
The meeting was coordinated and moderated by Mr. Walid Al-Hilali, hosting with him the distinguished guests:
Dr. Faraj Muhammad Al-Maqsabi, Head of the Horticulture Department, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Benghazi, President of the Blessed Tree Society.
A. Mesbah Agreeb, an architect and head of the “Love One another” program, and head of the “Grow, Plant, and We Are With You” Association.
The meeting was opened by Mr. Walid Al-Hilali, speaking and introducing people about World Environment Day and the importance of this day for Libya and all countries of the world.
After that, the conversation moved to Dr. Faraj Al-Maqsabi, who spoke about the “Blessed Tree Association,” and that this association was announced only two weeks ago, and that the association cares about trees and the environment in all parts of the country.
The association is also interested in planting a culture of love for trees and how to preserve them, spreading awareness within schools and institutes, visiting public parks, spreading awareness in these places, paying attention to afforestation, and coordinating with all associations interested in this program.
After that, the conversation moved to Mr. Misbah Aghraib, introducing the “Love One Another Program for Agriculture” and that this program is based on donating and distributing trees for free. Afforestation and how to preserve trees. With this program, the “Take Plant and We Are With You” association emerged. This association is interested in planting fruitful and rare trees. Mr. Misbah also spoke about the rare trees that were distributed through the association in Libya and about the very rare fruits that were brought to Libya and distributed for free in not small quantities. In most cities in Libya.
Mr. Misbah touched on the places where trees were planted, such as schools, mosques, squares, and public parks. He also touched on some of the other work carried out by the association, the most important of which is providing free consultations and field visits to everyone who loves planting trees and taking care of them, and training courses on beekeeping and pruning and vaccination courses.
